Saturn

Posted on August 29, 2020August 29, 2020 by FlyerOne

The first capture of Saturn I am sort-of happy about.

Specs: variable projection 6mm with Canon DSLR movie mode. 3x 3minute videos joined in PIPP for a total of 14000 frames of which just over half were kept and half of those stacked in AS3.

Wavelets in Registax are still black magic to me, might have overdone it a bit I think. Color seems slightly too yellow, also there are some smudges. Need to look into the de-rotation of images.

I am still trying to get the SV305 to work properly as its a dedicated astrocam but so far have not had much luck yet. I seem to be unable to focus the image and it’s always overexposed. To be continued 🙂

Target for the next clear night is to get Mars again.
